P & C

Springwood Public School P&C Association

What is a P&C Association?

A Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is a not-for-profit organization made up of parents, caregivers, and interested community members working together to support our children’s school and education.

We organize events such as colour runs, school canteen treat days mother’s/father’s/ carer’s day stalls which all assist in raising vital funds e.g. we have previously subsidised excursions for every student in an attempt to keep costs down for families, purchased band equipment and new tables for the library to name a few. We act as a voice for parents, communicating with the school to address concerns and suggest improvements.

The P&C also runs the Uniform Shop with the help of volunteers. The P & C meets in weeks 3 and 8 of each term. Look for meeting dates and times in our weekly newsletters.

Why become a member?

Joining the P&C is about being involved for you children, making a difference, building a community, meeting new people, forming friendships and having fun!

Your level of involvement is up to you, you don’t have to be available for every event we run, most of our members have full time jobs, you can volunteer your time as much or a little as you want.

Engaged P&C members in strong numbers will give the best opportunity for us to combine resources and share the load resulting in greater output and success.

Members can participate in the decision-making processes of the P&C, vote on matters and hold an executive position on the committee.

When do we meet?

The P&C meets on a Wednesday night at 7.00pm in the staff room at Springwood Public on the 3rd and 8th week of each term. The meetings are informal, and we generally finish by 8pm. At these meetings, we organise fundraising and social events, discuss contributions to the school and receive a report from our Principal (Mehmet Mehmet).

Even if you are not able to attend a meeting, you will receive an emailed copy of the minutes of each meeting.

How do I join?

To join the P&C simply complete the form below and pay the annual Membership Fee of $5.00.

Payment can be made via cash or bank transfer (Name: Springwood Public P&C Association BSB: 032-837 Acc: 236 177 please put your name & ‘P&C Membership’ as the reference)
