Additional learning support

At our school, we ensure every student is ready to learn. We support students with disability and additional learning needs so they can take part in all areas of school life. You do not need a formal diagnosis for your child to receive support in a mainstream class. Support can begin at any stage of school.

Support that fits your child's needs

Some students need extra support to feel confident and do their best at school. We work closely with families to make support plans and adjustments that suits each child’s needs.

Additional learning support can include:

Adjustments are planned with parents and carers. They are reviewed regularly and changed when needed.  If you think your child may need extra help, contact us.

Learning and support team

Springwood Public School promotes inclusion and is an environment where every student is known, valued, cared for, and belongs. With a strong student-centered approach, the Learning and Support Team collaborates with parents/carers, and external therapists to address the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.

Referrals to the Learning and Support Team can be initiated by class teachers, and we encourage parents/carers to engage in discussions about their child's needs with their class teacher, who can facilitate further support.

For direct inquiries, parents/carers can contact the Learning Support Team through the school office.

When necessary, individual adjustments and supports are implemented to ensure that all students can achieve success. This process involves all key stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive support system and plan.

Additionally, students who require sustained adjustments are registered under the National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), which helps inform government support strategies and funding decisions.

Together, we strive to empower every student to reach their full potential.

Our learning and support team helps make sure every student gets the help they need at the right time. The team works with families, teachers and support staff to:
